"Despicable Me" Minion Nails

I was asked to do the Minions from "Despicable Me." Here's what I ended up with :)

HOW TO:
First I painted my nails yellow. I knew that I bought yellow nail polish for a good reason :)

OPI - Need Sunglasses?

Next I used a detailer brush. You can buy them at nail places, OR you can just go to Michael's like me and buy a thin brush :)

With that brush I took some blue and painted the overalls.

OPI - Ogre The Top Blue

Now I used my Orly brush, its very thin as you can see and I LOVE THESE THINGS. I use them so much! I used it to paint a black line above the overalls for the glasses strap. I don't have a picture of what the lines look like though, because I forgot :)

Then I used my dotter tool and did two large grey dots to make the goggles.

OPI - Suzi Takes the
Wheel

Then I created two slightly smaller white dots inside the grey dots.

OPI - Alpine Snow

Now here's the fun part. You add black circles to the white circles to finish off the eyes. Then you use the dotter to create the buttons on the overalls. But the best part is, is that you can create your own original faces and hair. This is what gives them personality. :)

And that's all it is :)

Dot Clusters

So I have decided to start a blog of my nail designs. I usually do my nails once a week, but sometimes I redo them everyday :)

I call this Dot Cluster well, because its a dot cluster :) I absolutely love the way it looks. Its a great design because there's so many different combinations that are possible.

HOW TO:

The first thing I did was I did two coats of this grey. I usually would do a basecoat, but I don't have any at the moment :)

OPI - Suzi Takes the Wheel

This is my dotter tool, it probably my most beloved nail tool. I got it at Ulta for $5. It has two different sized dotters, for this design I used the bigger one.

What I do is I put some of the nail polish i'm going to use for dotting on a piece of paper so then you don't have to keep getting it out of the bottle :) You can make as many or as little dots as you would like.

OPI - Alpine Snow

Next I did the same thing but with green.

OPI - Gargantuan Green Grape

Then I did it with the light purple.

OPI - Do You Lilac it?

Lastly I did the dark purple dots.

OPI - Funkey Dunkey

Then you put a top coat on after it dries and you are done! :)
